Final Project

Factory for the Fifth Industrial Revolution

During the first Industrial Revolution, Bristol was the heart of innovation, but in the years since, both the structures and societies have been abandoned. The mechanising, digitising, and now decentralising of the workforce has left many with redundancies and no opportunities to upskill.

This proposal aims to use the process of recycling plastic to upskill the community for the imminent 5th industrial revolution, thereby mitigating what I identified as two of the most significant environmental and social issues in Bristol today.

Each stage provides a learning opportunity for the skills projected to become vital to the 5th industrial revolution while targeting a specific UN sustainability goal.

The factory is fully adaptable, providing the base for a manufacturing plant that can be manipulated with modular units built, extracted and shipped across Bristol, UK and the World.
