Final Project

Nature’s Scaffold: Reshaping Healthy Habits

Engaging with the topic of Food, Diversity and the City, my graduation project, titled ‘Nature’s Scaffold: Reshaping Healthy Habits’ seeks to address the challenges related to food and obesity, whilst revealing and celebrating the local, natural facilities that the Lea Valley offers.

Following a ‘scaffolding’ concept, the scheme aims to regreen this segment of the Lea Valley, in an attempt to go beyond the current conflicts between nature and industry, by restoring natures scaffold.

“120 minutes in nature a week is proven to reduce the risk of obesity”.

By establishing a visitor destination in the heart of the Lea Valley, visitors can explore and appreciate the beauty of nature, which can ultimately enhance their physical and mental health.
